I bet our council tax won't be going down.

No, but even if it did go down the Express would probably say it had gone up. ;-)

The article does say as agreed by the unions. So presumably they were consulted. As for fat cat bosses that will always be the same. I bet our council tax won't be going down.

Yes but that 9% are all normal workers eg not management, they have had there pay cut by an average of £2000 and most by upto £5000 (this I know fact)

But this is only here say, I bet the pay rise is only going to be about £10PM.

Also I bet the higher ma nagmet will not be get a cut, I bet the fat cats on the council will only be getting fatter.

So 9% of council staff will get their pay cut hence the headline.

Like every other local authority in the country, Stockport Council is carrying out an equal pay exercise, as agreed with the trade unions.  And the outcome is that 46% of staff will have their pay increased, 9% will have it reduced, and the remaining 45% will see no change.

So how does the Stockport Express headline this on its front page?   'Council Cuts Staff Pay'

Words fail me.......... ::)
