http://www.glo-lantern.co.uk/     where to buy the lanterns
Upon seeing the shadow of a PIDGIN  one should resist the urge to look up.

Did anyone read about the story about a Stockport vicar seeing a ufo? I noticed it mentioned on the news board thing outside Martin's. I wondered if it was one of our lanterns making an appearance again?  ;)

Did anyone see the lights in the sky last night.  I was looking towards Winnington Road from Marple Bridge and saw what I thought was a firework going up.  But it carried on across the sky towards our house and then over towards Mellor.  It was quite a large red light and moving at quite a pace.  A couple of minutes later the same thing happened again in the same direction.  There was no sound - no flashing lights of headlights to imply they were planes or helicopters.  Also they seemed to be moving too fast for lanterns.  Anyone got any idea what they could be?  This was at about 12.05am on Sunday morning.

They would be bloomin expensive fireworks then!  These things travelled in a straight line from horizon to horizon on the same course.

Come on Nick, get real!

Nope - still not the answer - these things travelled as fast as a plane but without sound.  And didn't burn out.

The International space station is visible for a few nights, see my website for times and sky maps www.amos39.free-online.co.uk

Could it have been one of Georges space stations. Ray

Seemed a bit low for space stations plus there was two and also they had red lights which were steady (didn't flash like plane lights).  Probably one of life's mysteries.  I will keep a look out though - if the same thing happens at the same time this week then it must be planes.  Or aliens on a schedule!
