Parking tickets by post

Be aware that new regulations now allow councils to issue parking tickets by post, making it harder for drivers to collect evidence for an appeal than when tickets are issued at the time of the alleged offence. Previously, a parking ticket was only valid if the attendant handed it to the driver or placed it on the windscreen of the car. If the parking ticket gets lost in the post,by the time you get a charge notice you may well be out of time to appeal.
