Hi Mark
We've been going nearly 30 years, and originally there were 4 separate credit unions that merged in 2005, so I'm not sure anyone remembers them all!
I do know the last 3 years, though: Year ending Sept 2016 0%, Year ending Sept 2015 0.4%, Year ending Sept 2014 0.4%.
Any surplus we create can only go into running costs, reserves (regulatory requirements) or as a dividend to members - we have no outside shareholders, so it all stays in Stockport.
Our main income source is from interest on loans and these are increasing - though we still have more to lend if anyone in Marple would like to - more details on our website: www.stockportcu.com.
All the best
Julie

Do you have a record of the annual dividends paid by @Stockport Credit Union to members since its launch?

I think this post was probably copied from Stockport.gov.uk website - so in the interests of being helpful (and upping my number of posts - determined not to be a junior for ever) you can find more details on the following link

Credit unions are community based savings and loans schemes which are run and managed by local volunteers. The credit union movement is worldwide and in many countries, credit unions have offices alongside banks and other financial institutions on the high street.

In July 2006, Stockport Credit Union was officially launched when Brinnington, Houldsworth, Offerton and Werneth Credit Unions joined forces. Anyone who lives or works in the borough can now join Stockport Credit Union.
