What is IMPACT?

Impact is funded by the Primary Care Trust (PCT) and run through Stockport Community and Voluntary Services SCVS .

Our Aim:

To promote and improve the health of local people.

What do you mean by health?

This is health in the widest sense.  Physical health can be improved through exercise, for example Tia Chi, dance, walking group.  Social wellbeing can be improved through meeting others in a social group, sharing experiences and receiving support, for example carers support group, single parent support groups.

Funding:

Impact has funding to offer for projects that improve people’s health.  You can download an application form by visiting www.stockportimpact.org.uk or phone the IMPACT team on 0161 477 0246.

Meetings:

Each quarter an IMPACT meeting will be held in your area.  Meetings are informal and open to everyone from local residents, community and voluntary group members to people who work in the area.  The meetings are a great way to share ideas, network and find out what is  going on in you area.

Activities:

Do you need support putting on an activity in your community group?  Is there an activity you would like to get involved with locally? Come along and share your ideas at the next meeting:

Marple IMPACT Group next meet 10am, Thursday 7th August, Marple Library, Memorial Square.
