The latest update in the Iron Bridge diary added on 24th February DOES say that completion is expect towards the end of May 2008. This is still the expectation.

Activity should hot up soon on site once the first hollow box section is delivered. We hope to have a new internal web cam installed in the near future so that the ongoing installation can be viewed on-line.

For the latest info see http://www.marple-uk.com/ironbridge

ps - please try to stick with the topic of the orginal post, which was the resurfacing of Compstall Brow.

Can anyone tell me the current anticipated opening date for the Iron Bridge?  I did look on the website entry, but it gave no indication.  Hope it won't be too long - it is a long way to walk round by road.

Thanks for the update, seeing that the work was not done to the required standard the first time is the company being penalised by the council. Also if the work should have been finished by 3:00 pm each day it certainly wasn't the day I was stuck in the jam, it was still going on at 4:30 pm. That would be in breach of the street work's act, again is the council going to fine the company. It seems to me that the only people who suffer are the residents! '<img'>

I believe it was suggested that Compstall brow be brought up to scratch before Dan Bank is dealt with in order that it would withstand the additional traffic that is likely to occur once the work on Dan Bank commences.
