Well Folks, Thanks for all your comments about Kays Wood and I'm sure the walk into Marple will do me good! Hopefully I'll be a new resident down there by xmas.

The nice thing about Marple is that you can reach the centre from almost anywhere in the town in less than 20 minutes. Kays Wood Road (not "Kayswood") is perhaps 15 mins walk from the shops and park.

I live just near Rose Hill Station, and have no car (because I can't drive! lol  ':p' )
Lived down that way now for almost 10 years, and never found it a problem walking up to Marple.
There is always a friendly face along the way who say hello.
It's a nice quiet area and would recommend it to anyone wanting to move.  '<img'>

i used to live on kayswood when i was a kid, from the age of 3 i think till about 12 and still have friends down there.
its a really good friendly road to live and if i could i'd go back as for the walking theres no problem we used to do it 3 times a week with me mum and you always see people walking up and down stockport road from there. if there is a problem theres always the bus.

My ex-childminder has never had a car - she is regularly to be seen with double buggy and toddlers in tow up and down the road - she drops off at Dale Primary.  The kids walk everywhere and are better for it.  She even walks them from Kayswood to Etherow or the Spring Gardens pub on Compstall Road (not for a pint you understand but because they have the large play area at the back!'<img'> and to Chadkirk Chapel.  At least its on the flat - we live in Marple Bridge and everywhere we go involves a hill.

I used to sell Avon, and did a huge round, I used to have it all piled up under my pram before the days I had my car.

It used to take me forever as people would stop and want to say hello to my son, it was a great way to meet new people if you are new to the area.

I know several families that live on Kayswood, they are all nice families.

I dont think that not having a car is a problem at all,  I probably live the same distance away from the centre ( Marple Tavern end of Marple) and it has never been a problem when I did not have wheels!!

Needing your car to do shopping might be a matter of opinion. I think the walk to Marple centre from Kayswood would be no problem at all, especially if you have a pushchair to load up with shopping.

You will find that you are a bit out of the Marple area in Kayswood Road. You will always need to use your car for any shopping in Marple, I would look around the area of the Texaco Petrol Station, on both sides of Stockport Road, which is a good location for all of the amenities in Marple.

Thanks for Comment, that's one of the things I like about the road, having a two year old its good not to be on a main road.

My ex-childminder lives on Kayswood Road.  Always seems like a very quiet road to me - children are usually playing out on the street because its not a through road.

Hi, I'm looking at moving to Marple and have seen a house on Kayswood Road. Does anyone have any opinions or comments on the road/area?
Thanks
