I too have been told that Churches Together in Marple know nothing of this and that it isn't going to happen.

I have it on good authority that there is no truth in this rumour, and that the cross is here to stay (although if this windy weather goes on for much longer, maybe we shouldn't bank on it...........)   '<img'>

Tonight I have been asked if I can confirm the rumours that Mellor Cross is to be dismantled. I haven't heard anything about this before but does anyone out there know more?
