Trust you(mum heather) to say that. I suppose if you want to go camping and the beach then yes abersoch is the place for it. We as a family, rent a house down there every year for a week and we really enjoy it. we spend the week has a family all together, its a really good place for children too

If you want beach and pleasure beach, then I can't really help as they don't really stroke my goat. However, you might try Formby Sands. It is a National Trust beach which means it is pretty much unspoilt and has one of the country's only red squirrel sancturies next to the car park. It's a lovely place.

Thanks Deniseamb and Susan, useful information.

Based on the Good Beach Guide Website, I think I'll give New Brighton a try over on the other side of Liverpool.  Looks like the ferrys and ship come in passed it, so my son will be happy  '<img'>

Hi. We took the children to Rhyl the other week, the beach was okay, but that was where it stops. Th funfair needs updating and there are house's on the seafront all boarded up and windows smashed up. So i would say stay away from there. What about southport or blackpool.

Hi,

I'm looking for the best beaches to head to from Marple for the a day trip with two pre-school children in tow.  I've been over to Formby which is OK, but any others would be greatly appreciated, along with facilities, journey time and anything else you'd deem relelvant!

Cheers!
