That’s a good question. I will find out today and reply on here unless one of the other Councillors knows this already?

500 new homes on High Lane... we'll need EVEN more speed humps on Windlehurst, at least 14 new sets of traffic lights and a giant tin of paint to daub in some new cycle lanes!

That’s what the meeting is for, we are keen to listen to residents from the local area and will be there to help as much as possible. This will no doubt be the same for Council officers who be attending the drop in session earlier in the day.

Good morning

We have just received an email confirming the capacity for the meeting is 180 people. It may not get filled of course but it is only fair to let people know.

Kind regards

Steve

Good morning

Last night the Council budget for 2018/19 was not passed. A second meeting has been programmed for this coming Tuesday evening so the Area Committee will unfortunately not go ahead on this date. Your local Councillors did explain about the Area Committee meeting but the Council date could not be changed. As soon as more information is given to us I or another Councillor will update accordingly on here.

The new date for the Council budget was out of our hands, I thought it only fair to let people know as soon as possible.

The drop in consultation session in the afternoon will still go ahead as planned.

Kind regards

Steve

The following has been agreed

"Following the decision of the Council Meeting to adjourn and reconvene on Tuesday 26 Feb at 6.00pm to continue the discussion in relation to the 2019/2020 Council Budget, the extra-ordinary meeting of Marple Area Committee scheduled to take place on that evening in High Lane Village Hall to consider the Greater Manchester's Plan for Homes, Jobs and the Environment - The Greater Manchester Spatial Framework Draft for Consultation will now no longer take place.

Please note that a  drop in event  to enable residents to see the draft plan in full and to  discuss its detail with Council offers will still take place as planned in the Village Hall from 1.00pm -7.00pm

The Area Committee will meet on Wednesday 6th March at 6.00pm in Marple Senior Citizens Hall and the co-chairs have agreed in light of the above to hold an Open Forum at that meeting to enable residents to attend and express their views on the consultation document with Councillors."
