Hi. I have a 14 year old and 11 year old daughters who are looking to join a local club, group to meet new people / make new friends. We are relatively new to the area hence my asking on this board as to whether anything exists?
I have been in contact with St John Ambulance who told me they are fully subscribed!
Where do the teenagers mainly hang out? At the skate park?

There are thriving groups of Scouts (meet in hall opposite Memorial park, nr the Library) and Guides (meet in hall opposite All Saint's School).

There was a new youth group started in January in the Senior Citizen's Hall being run by SAVY. But they have had their funding cut by Stockport Council and the sessions funded by the grant from East INPT finished at the end of March. SAVY were trying to find alternative funding but I haven't heard any news about whether they have been successful yet.
Apart from this and the Scouts I don't know of any others.

Do either of them play a musical instrument? Our son plays in a band run by Stockport Music Service.

Marple Scouts and Guides are one of the best in the area and really worth a look.

I can vouch for Marple Scouts and Guides, all my sons have been beavers, Cubs, scouts and one of them was a leader, my daughter in law and her sister and mum are brownie/ guide leaders.
It's a fantastic resource in Matple.
