SPEAKERS FOR 2019
Ludworth and Mellor Women's Institute Monthly Meetings.
New Members and Visitors are always welcome.
All meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at the WI Hall, Lower Fold, Marple Bridge SK6 5DX at 2.00 p.m. for 2.15 p.m.
THURSDAY 3rd JANUARY
We start the new year with an origami workshop. Come along and learn how to make something amazing out of paper!
THURSDAY 7th FEBRUARY
Why not join us at our February meeting when Jenny Riley, the editor of Crochet Now magazine, will talk to us about all things crafty and what is involved in putting together the UK’s no.1 crochet magazine.
THURSDAY 7th MARCH
Come and join us at our March meeting when we welcome Chris Webb, author, playwright and former scriptwriter on Brookside and EastEnders.
THURSDAY 4TH APRIL
Come and join us at our April meeting when Zeta Emmett from the Cheshire Federation will explain the work of ACWW in improving the lives of rural women across the world, supported by the Pennies For Friendship collections at our meetings.
THURSDAY 6th JUNE
Why not join us at our June meeting when Keith Birkett will entertain us with a talk on the history of Roberts Bakery, a family-run company that’s been baking for over 100 years.
THURSDAY 4th JULY
Why not join us at our July meeting when Elaine Pratt will explain the history of the Garrick Theatre in Stockport, the oldest “little theatre” in the UK.
THURSDAY 5th SEPTEMBER
Ludworth and Mellor Women's Institute Monthly Meeting will be published as soon as the details have been confirmed.
THURSDAY 3rd OCTOBER
Why not join us at our October meeting when we will be staging a mock trial with the help of the Magistrates in the Community team. Members of the audience will be invited to play all the parts and, ultimately, be the judge!
THURSDAY 5th DECEMBER
Why not join us at our December meeting when we welcome back by popular demand the Ladybrook singers with a festive concert!

Why not join us to have some fun making art with some surprising results?
Together we may produce a masterpiece!

BECOMING A MEMOIR WRITER - JOSSLYN CARPREAU
Josslyn will tell us about her journey to become a memoir writer, sharing some insights and stories, some of which relate to the Manchester Blitz

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Why not join us to celebrate International Women's Day?
There will be activities and treats to enjoy - all with an International flavour.

THE KINDLING TRUST - CHRIS WALSH
Join us to hear about all the work this local Charity undertakes, growing and providing food for the local Community.

MEMBERS MEETING - ORGANISED BY MEMBERS
Come and join us at our Members' event when we will be sharing and sampling our favourite and family recipes, plus holding a photographic competition.

THE HISTORY OF WELL DRESSING - DOROTHY CHARLETON
Dorothy will tell us about the History of Well Dressing followed by the opportunity to try your hand at a 'have-a-go' workshop.
THURSDAY 2nd JULY
DE-CLUTTERING - BABS BRAY
Come and take part in a short quiz followed by a talk by Babs, who will share the secrets of de-cluttering.
AUGUST - THERE IS NO MEETING IN AUGUST

LATE SUMMER AFTERNOON TEA - ORGANISED BY THE COMMITTEE
Come and join us to enjoy a late summer afternoon tea, a fun quiz and a bumper fundraising raffle.
THURSDAY 1st OCTOBER
CHAIR EXERCISES - ANN SOTHERAN
Come and join us for some little light exercises. Fun and Easy. Our guest Ann will 'Keep Us Moving'.
Please wear trousers to take part.
THURSDAY 5th NOVEMBER
ANNUAL MEETING
Ludworth and Mellor WI will hold their business, voting and election meeting this month.
The election of Committee Members and the President will take place.
The meeting is open to all, but only members can vote.

CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES
Join us for fun, songs and surprises.
