Hi - I'm wanting to do the Mam Tor trek from Castleton.

What is the best way to Castleton from Marple via public transport ?? Thanks

Train to hope bus to Castletown from the main road or walk in its about a mile from the station .or you can download a bus timetable .from derbyshire public transport section . Good luck with your walk or run .

i would get the train from marple to Edale and walk over the top of Mam Tor into Castleton or back downto Edale. From Castleton you could always walk or bus to Hope and catch a return train from there

I walked from Compstall to Edale last weekend.
Be aware that the last train from Edale on Saturdays is around 10.55pm and goes to Stockport not Marple.
The last train to Marple is 9.04pm.
