Do we have firm info that it is Asda who want the Hibbert Lane site, rather than Tesco?

But as anyone who has been involved in this sort of scheme will tell you, being 'in talks' doesn't count for very much in the long run.  For example, if planning consent is eventually secured, there will almost certainly be conditions attached to it.  If Asda don't like some of the conditions, they could just walk away.  That would leave it open for another supermarket chain to step in and take over.
