The Charity Quiz Nights at The Ring O' Bells, as from Thursday 26th May 2011 will take place every Thursday onwards.
The Quiz starts at 9.00pm but it's worth getting in early to ensure a seat.
1st Prize is 8 free drinks to be consumed on the night or the following Quiz Night. 2nd Prize is 4 bottled drinks.
The quiz costs £1 per head to enter, all money going to the nominated charity.
There is also an "Open the Box" game, where the person drawn gets to open one of 12 boxes. The prizes include up to £50 in cash, other good prizes plus booby prizes too. If not won the money builds up and there are more money prizes. Cost is £1 per ticket and half goes to the charity and half to the prize money.
The ideal team size is 4 people but there is a handicap / bonus scheme to balance things up if your team is larger or smaller.
There are also penalty points for previous winners and runners up to make sure the same team does not win every time.

Thank you to Landlord @michael ringobells at the Ring o' Bells pub for nominating FoMMP for the Quiz last night when original cause didn't attend. A welcome £56 for the Skatepark!

Sad night last night as Pete and Sue unexpectedly announced that it was the last weekly charity pub quiz due to "commercial issues". Pete and Sue's quiz has been a fixture since we arrived in Marple 11 years ago.
Can't go without a pub quiz, so we're going to have to find another. I seem to recall that the Navigation run a quiz on thursday, can anyone confirm / add details?

The Navigation quiz is every Thursday. It starts round about 9.30.

Normal pub rules and age restrictions presumably. Our 15 year old has attended. It goes on quite late.
