Each registered user can vote once in the poll for the Civic Society's Urban Landscaping Design Award. The contenders are:

05 - Peace Garden landscaping and seating area
Adjacent to Goyt Bridge, Marple Bridge. A Marple Bridge Association project. Nominator Pat Harris wrote: "From a neglected and overgrown area ... voluntary labour landscaped, with planting. It enhances this part of the village."

06 - Marple War Memorial Park
Six times winner of the Green Flag Award, nominated for landscaping in the total area by Treasurer of Friends of Marple Memorial, Mark Whittaker: "Extensive improvements made by Friends of the Park and others since 2005, including: Yew Tree planted on National Commemoration Day (2005); New Junior Play Area (2005); Jim Heald Commemorative Bench (2006); Coronation Bench around the oak tree planted in 1953 (2006); Commemoration of building of Bowling Green Pavilion by WWI soldiers (2007); Tree Sculpture and ground sculptures (2007); Teen-Rotator installed in Teen / Skate Park Area (2007); Development of wildlife area running alongside cinema and canal (2007-2009); BBC Breathing Places Reading Circle behind library (2007/2008); Redevelopment and replanting of War Memorial Flowerbed (2008 onwards); New Infants Play Area (2008/2009); Basketball Court Fence (2009); French Boules Court, seating and interpretation (2009); Refurbishment of Hollins House Council Offices (by SMBC 2007/2008); Danny Winter Bench (by his family 2009)."
