WHAT EGBERT THINKS...
Having had a major refit the Crown looks fantastically refreshed. On my visits I got the impression that the regulars and visitors alike are pleased with the improvements to both the food and bar area. Well worth a trip to Hawk Green!

YOUR COMMENTS...

Dear Egbert,
The last time I tried lunch at the Crown was many years ago when I went with my wife and 3 kids. After looking at the menu and turning my pockets out I could only afford bowls of soup all round. I have just been again, on recommendation, and what a difference. The new people have been there a couple of years and now it is really excellent for food at very reasonable prices. I had a hot steak baguette with onions and mushrooms at £5.95 and my wife enjoyed a chicken and bacon one. The steak was thick and of gorgeous flavour and it came with crisps and salad. A side-portion of well-cooked chips was £1.50. The Hatter's mild was well kept and all-in-all I can recommend this place. There is wheelchair access and a good sized car park at the rear. We'll be going again.
