Although obviously a Romiley based event, this superb show deserves all the support we can give. It provides an excellent weekend of entertainment on Marple's doorstep and for this reason alone its inclusion on the site can be justified.
The show must take an incredible amount of organisation, with its huge variety of events and attractions for people of all ages and interests. It also encourages participation, with numerous prizes in categories ranging from tractors to flower arranging, pets to handicrafts and mice to Shire horses. If you've never been before then make sure you rectify that at the next opportunity.
The 2009 event will be held on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July at Middle Farm (next to Bredbury Hall). The show is well worth the £5 entry fee (concessions £2). The Vice Presidents Subscription of £20, which allows entry for 2 people each day with forward parking, ring side seats and hospitality in the Vice President's enclosure, is good value if you want to take in the full weekend's events.
