for 2017 - Bob Lord
Bob is a retired Mechanical/Electrical engineer. He is a relatively new member to Rotary but has been involved on the fringes through friendship with several of the members of the Club and has had over 45 years’ experience with other charitable organisations. It quickly became obvious that he would soon be asked to become President and he readily accepted. He sincerely hopes that he can fill the office as competently as previous Presidents and is looking forward to a busy year ahead.
for 2017 - Howard Lawless
The new Secretary is yet another retired solicitor, having practiced for upward of 40 years in Manchester. Howard lived in Knutsford from 1971 and was a member of the Rotary Club of Knutsford for eighteen years. During this period he was appointed a Trustee of the Cheshire Branch of the British Red Cross and eventually Vice President of the Branch. In 2015 he moved to Marple and joined New Mills, Marple and District Rotary Club. The then Secretary was eager to relinquish the position after many years of stoic service and it was a matter of weeks after his transfer that Howard found himself being persuaded that it was his duty to stand for the position. He only hopes he can prove to be as capable a secretary as his immediate predecessor!
